Did you know that you can actually figure out what’s triggering your facial acne based on where it shows up? Here’s what may be causing your breakouts, and how to treat them:

Hairline

Some hair and cosmetic products can clog the pores around your hairline. Look for products labeled oil-free or non-comedogenic, which means they're specially formulated not to clog your pores. You can also wash your hair with clarifying shampoo, and cover your face when spraying hair products.

Cheek

Cheek acne is often caused by bacteria from surfaces like your phone screen or pillowcase. Avoid bringing your phone to the bathroom with you, clean and disinfect it regularly, and make sure to change your pillowcases weekly.

Jawline and Chin

These breakouts may be the result of hormonal or gut health changes. Probiotics can help improve your gut health and restore the skin barrier.

Forehead and Nose

Excess oil production can cause acne around your nose and forehead. Try to avoid touching your face, and maximize your sleep to reduce your stress and fatigue.
